Menin Gates little brother makes his debut at Ballarat Friday night. No pressure...
Another Young Guns at Auckland tonight/today for the C&G
So tune in at 5.25 AEDT
(there is a non TAB non telecast 2yo trot first up on the program but with only a field of 4)
I am on the ball today TC ;)
There are 2 first starters
Barry Purdon's is the first foal of a daughter of Misty Maiden and therefore mum is a half sis to Lombo Pocket Watch and closely related to Suave Stuey and Lombo Skyrider
(Barry also has 2yo F Ideal Eagle having her 2nd start against older company in the last)
10.10pm six of the seven in the 2yo at Newcastle are first starters
Newcastle first starter Gotta Go Gold by G G Cullect wins in 1.57.2 Watch out for Shadow Runner from same stable on debut.Related to Gotta Go Gold through Miss Prissy.Has been trialling as good if not better than tonights winner.
NZ Fillies Sires Stakes ht Sunday 1.56pm AEDT Timaru
Plenty of interest in the 2yo at Maryborough at 6.08 pm today with Menin Gate's half bro - Soho Rockefeller having his first start
Soho Rockefeller ran into a perfect storm for his first race with John Justice on the leader making sure nothing was going to make easy ground from back in the field.
The winner who sat in the Death and rated 1.55.8 for his first ever start was fantastic
Dont Hold Back is from a ¾ sister to Garnet River (2nd dam is Gemfire)
2yo Fillies Sapling Stakes Race 4 at Melton tonight
Salty Robyn wins the Gp2 in 1.53.9 despite galloping out

Have I seen that name within the forum contributors? If so congratulations.
Can run a swift quarter as the final shows on an "off" track.
Correct about the Breeders Tony, Waikiki Beach was mighty impressive in its first run, A must watch Folks.
Forgot to give everyone a memo for that one Tony - missed it myself. Off to the video
Thanks boys . They have really liked him all along,he was a lovely yearling ,his mother was a roach back so did well really considering her problems. Beach out of betters mare are probably close to the best cross in the world today, and i just happen to have a weanling full brother in the paddock. Third dam left Chandon so the family has a touch of speed.
Mark Purdon must like the family as Smolda is from it as well.
Smolda 2008 (G A59) by Courage Under Fire - 1:52.1 $510,291
Milly Scott's descendents are worth having a look at:

The 1st at Kilmore today (not until 2.45) sees 5 new 2yo's in a field of 9
And there are some very good 'Strides' amongst them
Genuine Stride - a Four Starzzz Shark half bro to Excel Stride,
Dragon Stride - a Four Starzzz Shark half bro to Grand Stride
and $120k purchase - Supreme Stride whose dam was the very good filly Morgan Abby (half sis to one of last season's star 2yo's Its Only Rocknroll)

Lots of interest in that race Kev, Hopefully Soho Lexington can put it all together, Very impressive in his first run at Shepparton but still a bit green and can do a lot wrong, Fingers crossed they've ironed out a few kinks in his make up and it certainly should be a great contest.
This afternoon at 4.06 and 5.06 AEDT we have 2 more heats of the Young Guns in NZ (It is the Northern Oaks meet - 7.05pm)
http://infohorse.hrnz.co.nz/datahr/fields/022702fd.htm
And on Sunday at 2.13 there is the Gp3 Leonard Memorial (Between the Ladyship and Derby at Menangle)
Purdon wins both Guns heats.
Don't forget Christmas Jolt going around in the 2nd last tonight to make it 5/5 (and only has 5 to beat, including 2 stablemates)
Dont Hold Back - WOW (I always liked Gemfire)
2yo's running 1.53 at Melton and we are not even half way into the season (close I know)
The AllStar team quinellaed (how do you spell that ) the American Ideal Leonard Memorial Stakes Gp3 at Addington today

The winner is Pembroke Benny's half sis
The breeding record of the dam of todays Ballarat 2yo winner Celebrity Guest seems most unusual
Celebrity Ball was a decent 2yo herself winning 3 races including a Breeders Crown heat and came 5th in the Gp1 Gold Tiara final WHILE IN FOAL
for she had her first foal that year
then she returned to racing back in foal and won a Breeders Crown heat as a 3yo too - the foal she was carrying however is listed as deceased

http://www.harness.org.au/ausbreed/r...orse_id=532283
Her dam is Larrakeyah Lady and it would seem her owners wanted a racehorse but could not wait for her to be a broodmare
Of course - thanks Harvey
Not only do we have the Derby and Auckland Cup onto tomorrow but there is also the Gp1 Cardigan Bay for the 2yo C&G and the Gp2 Young Guns for the 2yo Fillies. I thought this was a heats and final event but looking at the form of some of the starters it would seem not - TC will be able to fill me in

all I can find re conditions
2yo Blingittothemax, race 10, Devonport first start.

Art Major/Alldatglitterisgold. 2014 APG Sydney sale $145,000. No HRA results at time of posting. Led and cruised.
Two-year-old trotters kicked off in Vic and SA Friday night - the Bendigo winner will go a long way - didn't realise SA were so in need of turnover to put this on SKY though

Delight Me's little bro going around at Ballarat at 8.02
2015 Bathurst Gold Crown and Tiara fields out. Not that these babies will know any difference, just out of interest I wonder if there are more nominations with the new, bigger track this year?
The Tassie 2yo colt Blingittothemax has tripped over, in the hands of D Hancock.
I have been falling down on the job as far as reporting on the 2yo races
Todays winner at Geelong is another descendant of Avonali
