A follow up from an earlier post... Can someone please tell me what Todd McCarthy was doing at the 250m in Race 5 at Newcastle? No sour grapes we were beaten on our merits. It just looks like the sort of thing you do when you step in something nasty and you want it off your boots quick smart.
Sad to see The Gold Ace be nothing like he once was not long ago.. He's had a fair few starts back and shown hardly nothing to his old standard. He's probably had enough I'd say.
It is surprising that Full Pleasure - the dam of first start winner 2yo Egodan at Cranbourne tonight, has never won Broodmare of the Year.

Good luck to Ellen Tormey who is going to the U.S.A. and Canada tomorrow. Reward for effort in my opinion.

You may be right as well Kev. It's just a gut feeling I have, but I hope I'm wrong . It's awfully hard to stay at the top year after year.
Looks like it will be a good day.
I remember years ago (I was 18, so it would have been 1986) playing in a footy match with my brother. It was trainers and drivers v owners and media. It was played somewhere west of Melbourne, so Werribee / Altona area. My old man may have had a horse then or was helping out Ginger Gleeson so we played for the trainers and drivers side. I don't remember much of it except Gav Lang was coaching and Vinnie running around like a mad man.
