TT wins the first heat of the World Driving Championship.
If he leant any further out the back of the cart his helmet would have been scraping the track
Edit: Effective - he took 1.5 sec off Shannonsablast's Best MR

TT just had his first drive in NZ for a very close 2nd on The Fascinator in the 5th at Auckland but did he have a whip?

Since the early to mid 2's and up until recently, I lived in the States for two thirds of the year.
I've seen TT in action for many years, he's driven quite a few horses for a LLC I'm involved with over there.
The difference over there to here, drivers find the bottom of horses.
Shannonsablast for the most part has spent his career at Menangle being driven cold or on occasion sneaking around to park (no pressure) for a dash up the straight.
The connections of Shannonsablast I bet are in awe of the horsemanship they saw tonight. Possibly a quick check to see if it's theirs : )
Great to see the initiative from Tim Tetrick.
Just wondering if the stewards inquired into the Change of tactics?
If not hopefully this is the end of this ridiculous rule!!!
Initiative should be rewarded not penalised.
A little leniency for showmanship?
More like not wanting to be the laughing stock of world racing. Imagine the story Tetrick gets 6 weeks for trying to win.
The rule is a joke and this demonstrates it to the full extent
I notice 2 trainers/drivers were fined $500 for COT on Saturday night, but D Elder was not even questioned. Maybe there are no tactics given to the visiting drivers...joke.
I don't quite understand your issue with the drive/tactics of the horse in question. To my eye he was restrained off the arm, caught 3 wide and progressed forward to the death where he was some 3-4 lengths from the leader. It's not as if he fired him off the arm to gain that posi.
Are you having a joke Brett.
Just watch his previous start, the stewards note restrained after start. Went to the back of the field.
The horse may not have flown the gate but he was certainly not restrained and intentionally took up a forward position. Like I have said a thousand times before great to see initiative but please be consistent and allow the drivers to drive their horse to get the best chance.
Question is has Darren Elder driven the horse to allow its best chance of winning in the past??
