Hi Love of Courage
Let us know how your fillies trial and when there about to race so i can watch. I wish you all the best with them.
Congratulations Montana,
As you can tell by my username Courage is my all time favourite pacer / stallion and you just happen to have 2 of his very best offspring Lanercost and Courageous Annie. I have always believed that Courage was at his best when able to run at fast clip as he had such high speed and stamina. This seems to be how your two race best also. I have followed both of them since they started racing. Of all the courage stock I think Annie is something very special !
I have two unraced Courage fillies a 2 & 3 year old with Brisbane trainer Darren McCall that will trial soon. Hope they have some of your courage youngsters abilities. Having never raced a horse before and having 2 courage fillies I am really looking forward to watching them race.

Hello Mango,
I will keep you updated for sure. The 2 year old filly looks a lot like her old man Courage ! I hope she has some of his ability !
needless to say i am big fan too , courage was on the scene when i decided to get back into harness racing , my wife even bought me a big framed print of him and a horseshoe back then which i still have on the wall and to have 2 of his best horses to date is really a dream come true. one advantage of buying at the ready to run sales is you get to see their gate and both annie and lanny have similar gate to courage. and they both have attitude - cheeky and playful. I also think Annie will be something special she has come back bigger and better since her spell.
i wish you the very best of luck with your two fillies , lets us know when they are named so we can watch them , i am looking forward to 2 of my favorite mares foaling some courages this season on my property.
You are correct Flashing, however what Lanercost did last night is what this sport is all about, proving people wrong and realising dreams. I love being proven wrong, normally means a horse will come out and do something like Lanercost did last night and I for one am first to admit to being wrong.
Hello Montana,
Courage - Sue.JPG
Thank You ! for your kind thoughts. This is my favourite picture of Courage and I have quite a few. Every year when the studs take new pictures of Courage I ask if they can email them to me. If you are interested I can email you a few. I usually take them to print shop and have them printed and framed.

I am always happy to be proved wrong too. I thought For A Reason would win with Lanercost a close second. Probably the silliest thing I have ever said was after Makybe Diva won her first Melbourne Cup, to the tune of - I can't believe they race for 5 million and a horse like THAT wins it. She'll never win another race!" I tell you what, I was cheering her for her second Melbourne Cup win and then roaring like crazy when she won her third. One of the reasons I love racing - horses can't read comments, they don't know what is going on behind the scenes, the good horses just go out there and do their stuff!
