“The AGCO will not tolerate doping in Ontario’s horse racing industry,” noted Dr. Karin Schnarr, Registrar and CEO of the AGCO. “This case underscores our unwavering commitment to protecting the integrity of the sport and the welfare of horses. Any attempt to cheat the system and use performance-enhancing drugs is a serious breach of trust and the AGCO will hold offenders accountable.”
Cheating should NOT be tolerated anywhere in racing!!! 10 years sounds good to me . If they gave 10 years to every convicted drug cheat , maybe it would or could stop . But I doubt it .
That fine is rather small for the 10years , but he may not have any money coming in for a while .

Hey Trish
Have you been following along with what preceded this? Someone has got their hands on the FBI files from a few years back. Maybe handed to them. That person now slowly publishing the info. Includes phone taps and bit more than just a client list as before... but what they bought. Think Gillis just the tip of the iceberg. AGCO acted because they were forced to as so many people contacted them saying "WTF". And now USTA do same. Not sure if it's fact but apparently both already had all the information and chose before to do nothing. Only because it's been made public and they've been barraged with msgs that they have this time. Bigger fish to fry I believe from what I've read.
Nothing surprising here really. I would hope that if any of our state bodies became aware of widespread cheating we would hear about it BUT I would not stake my life on it - no code can afford a reputation hit
